Shown
below is a typical bicycle-driven pump setup for pumping
a small diameter water well using a 1/4 inch pumping tube.
The gearing and tube diameter can be changed to optimize
pumping effort
for the desired flow rate. With a setup like this, clean
water from the bottom of a surface sealed small diameter
(2") well can
be pumped from depths of 200 feet or more.
